EZ Saver Program Provides Additional Savings For The Easysaver Within The First 30 Days

The EZ Saver program from Erie Federal Credit Union does just that. The program automatically rounds up your Erie FCU Debit MasterCard purchase amounts to the next whole dollar, and then deposits the total round-up amount from all purchases into the interest-bearing EZ Saver account. In addition, the Erie FCU will match those deposits by 50 percent in the first 30 days after you opened the account.
After the first 30 days, the match amount will be 5 percent. The combination of an EZ Saver account and the Erie FCU Debit MasterCard makes for a simple, easysaver plan.
To take advantage of this program, you must open an EZ Saver savings account and Erie FCU Debit MasterCard checking account after becoming a member of the Erie FCU, a full-service federally insured credit union. Any easysaver who lives, works, worships or attends school in Erie or Crawford County, Pennsylvania is eligible. Children, grandchildren, grandparents, parents, siblings, stepsibling, stepparent and stepchildren of existing members also qualify for membership in the Erie FCU.
The Erie FCU ez saver program benefits account holders in other ways, too. The easysaver match deposits are not considered a dividend, which means they are not reported to the IRS. There is no minimum balance required on the EZ Saver account but withdrawals do affect monthly earnings. Account holders can take advantage of the matching program up to $300 annually.
For easysaver account holders who want to donate their match amounts to charity, the Eric FCU EZ Saver program has in place a partnership with the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, which provides ongoing support of the Kanzius Radiowave Treatment project.
Kanzius spent his life in broadcast engineering, management and ownership. After he retired, he was diagnosed with a rare form of B-cell leukemia. Kanzius worked tirelessly before he died in 2009 to support and advance a non-invasive cancer treatment that involved using radio frequency waves.
As a non-profit organization under IRS Code Section 501c(3), the foundation provides account holders who donate their match amounts the opportunity to qualify for an easysaver tax donation.
